Star Ocean discussion thread

I recently stumbled upon the star ocean series, and thought is was great. I wanted to talk to other people about what they thought of the game, the endings they got, and what they think about the game/series in general. So far I've only played First Departure and Second Story (in progress) and its a pretty awesome game. The stories are great so far and the only real complaint I've had about the game is that I would like to know is what happened to Roddick etc.. I realize that Ronyx became Claude's father, and I am pretty sure Ilia is his mother. What do you guys think about the games?
