Post Flash In The Brainpan: Steambirds

The year is 1835. One Sir Albert Pendelton discovers low temperature fusion. Now all machines can be powered byâ?¦ okay, we'll level with you. There are a lot of people who will get scared away if we say the word "steampunk" right now. So, instead, we're going to go right to the part where Steambirds is a turn-based airplane duel game, and boy, is it fun.

 

 

Imagine a board game, like Risk or Battleship crossed with one of those motorized football games. You set your movements, and then everyone takes their turn simultaniously. If you pick the wrong angle, you'll miss your target completely. If you pick the right oneâ?¦

 

 

Sure, there's a hot and steamy backstory, but if steampunk isn't your thing, you can just skip over it and pretend you're just fighting in World War Two. If you want to have a very unproductive Thursday, Steambirds is the game for you.
